Hajdúsági Nemzetközi Művésztelep

 A Hajdúsági Nemzetközi Művésztelep 1 963-ban alakult és 1968 óta az UNESCO által hivatalo­san bejegyzett művésztelep. Magyarország leg­régebbi, folyamatosan működő nyári képzőmű­vész telepe.

A telep hármas céllal jött létre. Alkotási, bemu­tatkozási lehetőség biztosítása a Kárpát-meden­cei képzőművészek számára, kapcsolatépítés az európai és a tengerentúli, illetve a magyar képzőművészek között, kiállítási lehetőség biz­tosítása a telep alkotóinak más országokban és a határainkon túli képzőművészet bemutatása Magyarországon.

Művésztelepünk alapítványi formában működik. Az alapítvány kuratóriuma minden évben 22-25 hivatásos alkotót kér fel arra, hogy évente, július első három hetében, vegyen részt a művésztelep munkájában. A meghívottak elsősorban festő­művészek és grafikusok, de több alkalommal vett részt munkánkban textilművész, fotóművész ill.. szobrász is. A meghívottak egy-egy alkotása bekerül a Hajdúsági Művésztelep Kortárs Ga­lériájába, mely gyűjtemény már több mint 600 kortárs képzőművészeti alkotással dicsekedhet. Egy másik alkotást az alapítványnak ajándé­koznak, azzal a céllal, hogy azt a kuratórium értékesítse és a befolyt összeget a művészte­lep működtetésére fordítsa. Minden nyáron, a művésztelep három hetes működése alatt, sza­badegyetem keretében lehetőséget adunk arra, hogy más művésztelepek bemutatkozhassanak. Célunk, hogy a résztvevők képet kapjanak a kortárs képzőművészet aktuális helyzetéről, az új kutatásokról, a Hajdúság történelméről és a régió művészeti életéről, neves szakírók, művé­szettörténészek, kritikusok közreműködésével. Évről évre több lehetőséget teremtünk arra, hogy Hajdúböszörmény város lakói és a mű­vészek találkozhassanak egymással: nyílt napot tartunk, amikor az érdeklődők betekinthetnek a művésztelep mindennapjaiba, benézhetnek a műtermekbe, beszélgethetnek az alkotókkal. Akciófestészetet rendezünk a város legforgalma­sabb terén, azzal a nem titkolt szándékkal, hogy az alkotás fázisait látva, az érdeklődők kedvet kapjanak a kiállítások látogatására. Az alkotá­sokat minden évben a magyar képző- és ipar­művészeti lektorátus bírálja el és a kuratórium a legkiválóbbakat Káplár Miklós-díjjal és három nívódíjjal ismeri el. Az évek során más országok művészei is megtiszteltek bennünket, így példá­ul finn, svájci, amerikai, német, horvát, román, szlovák, ukrán, izraeli, lengyel képzőművészek gazdagították a telep alkotómunkáját. Évente több alkalommal is fontosnak tartjuk kiállítások szervezését. Egyrészről azért, hogy a magyar és külföldi nagyközönség gyakrab­ban találkozhasson a városi gyűjtemény egyes darabjaival, másrészről a telepnek helyet adó Debreceni Egyetem Hajdúböszörményi Főisko­lai Karának Parafa Galériájával közreműködve több művész bemutatkozhasson Hajdúböször­ményben.

Hajdúböszörmény város polgárainak és önkor­mányzatának támogatásával, a főiskola veze­tésének, dolgozóinak áldozatos munkájával, a kuratórium szakértelmével, kitartásával a mű­vésztelep meghatározó színfoltja lett a magyar, kortárs képzőművészeti életnek.

The International Artists’ Colony of Hajdú Region

The International Artists' Colony of Hajdú Re­gion was established in 1963. and was regis­tered by Unesco in 1 968. It is the oldest steadily functioning colony of fine arts in Hungary. With its establishment the artists' colony focussed on three aims. Provide platform for the artists living in the Carpathian Basin to work and introduce themselves. Build links between Hungarian art­ists and those living elsewhere in Europe and overseas. Provide its participants with opportu­nities to exhibit their artworks abroad, and in­troduce fine art from behind the borderlines of Hungary in our country. Our artists' colony op­erates in the frameworks of a foundation. Every year the Board of Trustees invite 22-25 profes­sional artists to join the workshops of the colony during the first three weeks of July. They are mainly painters and graphic artists but several times there have been textile designers, fotog-raphers and sculptors among the participants. One artwork by each participating artist gets into the collection of Gallery of contemporary art owned by the Artists' Colony, bearing over 600 pieces at present. Another artwork of theirs is donated to the foundation which will sell them and spend the money on the maintenance of the colony. During the three weeks every year open university courses are organised to pro­vide other artists' colonies to introduce them­selves. The purpose of these courses is to give the participants an insight into the present state of contemporary art, the current tendencies and results of research. They can also gain informa­tion about the history of the   Heyducks as well as the art life of the region via lectures read by re­viewers, art historians and critics. Year after year we provide opportunities for local people and artists to meet. We hold a day of open gates making it possible for those interested to gain an insight into the everyday life of the artists' colony. They are invited to see the studios and have a chance to talk to the artists. Public events such as action painting are organised on the most frequented square of the town in order for the public to see the different stages of painting and thus encourage them to visit exhibitions. Ev­ery year the works of art are surveyed and ranked by a jury from the university of fine and applied arts; the best ones winning the Miklós Káplár Award and three Merit awards. In the course of the past years some artists from different foreign countries joined the workshops, from Finland, Switzerland, USA, Germany, Croatia, Romania, Slovakia, Ukraine, Israel, Poland just to mention a few, thus contributing to the high artistic value of the colony. Opportunities to exhibit artworks several times a year are considered very impor­tant. This way, on the one hand we facilitate Hungarian public and that of abroad see the pieces of the collection of the town, and on the other hand in close cooperation with the Parafa (Cork) Gallery of the College Faculty of Educa­tion of the University of Debrecen we provide platform for artists to introduce themselves in Hajdúböszörmény.

Due to the support of the town dwellers and the local government, the devoted work of the ad­ministration and workers of the college, as well as the expertise and endurance of the Board of Trustees the artists' colony has become one of the brightest spots of contemporary Hungarian art.
